Jeff Redding Memorial Award
The recipients of the Jeff Redding Memorial Award are selected by each of the Pickering high schools and presented to a graduate who exemplifies a love of, and dedication to, baseball or softball. This award was established in Jeff Redding’s memory by his family and many friends subsequent to his untimely passing in the Fall of 2001 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Jeff Redding was enthusiastic and passionate about the games of baseball and softball and the young people who played them. He strove to make a positive difference in the lives of young people through those games and in the too short of time that he was involved as a coach and parent, he did. All who had the privilege of being associated with Jeff benefited in so many ways, both on and off the field, from Jeff’s enthusiasm, passion, energy and caring and his courage and dignity in the face of his illness.
Our memories of Jeff's enthusiasm live on and the PBA is honoured to be in trust of this award and our congratulations go to the following recipients:
